Mercian Geologist

Each year the Society publishes the Mercian Geologist, our own journal, compiled by an editor who is a member of the EMGS Council with a supporting editorial team drawn from the Society's membership. Original scientific articles are invited and published on all geological topics and, while items on East Midlands geology are especially welcome, there is no restriction on the scope of papers considered. In recent years the journal has been refurbished and remodelled to give a more modern look, and now includes more news features, informal reports, book and event reviews, and general geological commentary. The Editor is pleased to receive contributions from members on the Society's activities including reviews of lectures and field trips.
Our Mercian Geologist Online Archive enables online viewing of every issue since first publication in 1964. The most recent issue is made available online one year after its original publication in printed format.
