How you can become an EMGS member
Anyone interested in geology is welcome to join the East Midlands Geological Society, amateur or professional alike. The Society arranges at least six lectures each autumn and winter on diverse geological topics and at least six field trips in the spring and summer led by experts. Although based at Nottingham University lectures are also held at - British Geological Survey, Derby University and Loughborough University.
The Society is a registered charity (No. 503617) and is affiliated to the Geologists Association. Close links are maintained with the local universities and the British Geological Survey at Keyworth, also with neighbouring regional geological societies.
In addition to a three-monthly programme of events, the Society publishes its scientific journal The Mercian Geologist and a growing number of other scientific publications.
